Environmental Commitment

Materials Sourcing

Titan works to manage the risks associated with the use of critical materials. Particularly, in Chile, the availability of critical products is delimited and detailed within the Critical Stock Registry. These materials are associated with changes in pricing and regulatory and reputational risks, so the appropriate management is of the utmost importance.

EMS CERTIFICATIONS

As part of our commitment to the environment, Titan has Environmental Management Systems in place which includes environmental monitoring across our global operations. Our systems monitor and track energy consumption, waste management, and overall environmental health throughout our footprint, which enables us to measure and continuously improve environmental performance. We also conduct routine internal environmental assessment audits at our facilities.

In addition, 17 of our global facilities (listed below) are certified to ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management, representing about 46% of our locations. We continue to strive for efficiency and operational improvements to lessen our impact on the environment.

Titan’s ITM business is in process of certifying its Energy Management System according to the ISO 50001: 2018 standard. Also, the ITM casting plant in Spain uses “end waste” from the automotive sector as raw material. Our forging plants in Italy and in Brazil produce scrap that is resold to the steel mill to be transformed in steel.

ECO-DESIGN

As stewards of the environment, we also strive to take environmental considerations into account in the design and manufacturing of our products. As one example, Titan Wheel Corporation utilizes waterborne urethane and powder production paints, which do not contain harmful solvents. And in another part of our process, we incorporate recycled rubber in the rubber compounds used in our tires.
